Getting Married In The Outer Banks
Did you know that twelve million people live around the borders of the second largest of the Great Lakes, Lake Michigan? Well, its true. Lake Michigan borders Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin and Illinois. It makes a great vacation destination for tourism and travel, and is extremely popular for seasonal travel. Lake Michigan has some of the most pristine beaches with its soft and off white sand also known as “singing sand” due to a “squeaking” sound it makes when it’s walked upon.
Not only is Lake Michigan a popular tourist destination, but also a part of commerce and industry. The St. Lawrence Seaway and the Great Lakes Waterway make it possible to accommodate ocean going vessels, although large sections do freeze in winter.
Take a ride on the either of its two ferry systems which cross Lake Michigan. Here you can travel from Wisconsin to Michigan, via the water. Underwater you can find species of lake trout, yellow perch, panfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, bowfin and catfish. Due to “predator” fish, lampreys, round goby, zebra mussels and asian carp, the lake has been stocked with may species of fish to keep the population thriving.
Explore the history Lake Michigan has to offer, you’ll be glad you did.
